poems by Jacob

These poems were written by me in 8th grade.  I wrote these as an English assignment.

Animals-What They Do
Deer munch on berries.
Turkeys gobble as they walk.
Bears sleep in their dens.

As The Seasons Change
Spring is beautiful.
Fall is a colorful time.
Winter is dreary.

This poem is called a color poem because it has to do with colors.

HEAVEN AND EARTH
GOLD IS THE LAND OF HEAVEN, SHINING LIKE THE SUN.
BLACK IS THE LAND OF EARTH, WHERE SIN IS NEVER DONE.

These poems are called Diamante poems.

MUSIC AND SILENCE
             Music

Lively, Joyful
  Singing, Dancing, Moving
 Notes, Rhythm, Quiet, Still
Boring, Annoying, Deadening
         Noiseless, Mute
              Silence

Squirrels and Bears
            Squirrels
             Gray, furry
     Storing, Eating, Running
   Nuts, Trees, Berries, Honey
Growling, Hibernating, Sleeping
           Colored, Loud
                 Bears

These poems are Cinquains

Rivers
Rocky, Rapids
Splashing, Rushing, Foaming
Can be rafted on.
Rivers

Kitten
Fury, Soft
Eating, Meowing, Sleeping
Purrs when you pet it
Kitten

This poem is a Limerick

Jake and the Cake
There was a chubby boy named Jake,
Who stared hungrily at a tall cake.
He stood by its' side,
And that's where he cried,
Until he ate the whole cake.

Birds

Birds

The Chickadee is loud and clear,
It loves to eat and sing.
The Blue jay is a pain to my ear,
When he does his cackling.

The Goldfinch eats Niger thistle,
Its colors are black and yellow.
The Cardinal has a pretty whistle,

Red makes him a handsome fellow.

The Robin with her orange breast,
Listens for her food.
The Eagle makes a huge nest,
So they can raise their brood.
